- Rinse the peas and add them to a large saucepan… then cover with fresh water. They get about 1/3 bigger while cooking so make sure you have room for that.
- Bring to the boil and simmer for 45 minutes
- Chop and fry the bacon until it is brown
- Turn down the heat to the lowest setting, add the bacon, cover and cook for a further 2 hours… but they could keep warm all day!
- Serve in a bowl, or perhaps as a side to accompany Pork Faggots.
