The first thing you will need of course, is a cabbage. Remove outer leaves from cabbage; cut cabbage through core, into quarters (keeping intact).
Steps to make Bacon Wrapped Cabbage π:
- Take off the outer leaves of the cabbage
- Cut into four wedges across the stem so as it stays together
- Add to a baking tray and cookin the oven for 35 minutes, on medium heat. Rroast cabbage needs longer to cook than the bacon. Sprinkle with salt and a little spray of oil
- I have thick back bacon so I slice it down the middle. Also the bit of rind if you slice across it won't curl up while cooking
- Across a little slice through
- Sprinkle the bacon on one side, the side which covers the bacon with Parmesan cheese (because it sticks to the bacon otherwise it will fall off the cabbage!). Sprinkle with the garlic powder if desired. Do the same with the other four slices.
- Take the cabbage out of the oven and cool a little. Keep the oven on
- Wrap the two slices of bacon around the cabbage wedge and press down.try to get the end of the bacon under the bottom of the cabbage to hold it in place.
- Back in the oven for s further 15 minutes on medium to high 190C
- When time is up bring out of the oven it's ready
- Serve hot as an accompanying a meat dish or just as a starter. Also a little apple sauce on the side.
- You can serve on a plate the way it is or slice through and make 8 slices to go around more people.
- Back out the oven
- Put on a serving dish with the pear sauce I have just added

You can also use toothpicks to secure the bacon - I always do - and they will end up looking like these! Check cabbage every few minutes, turning frequently to prevent burning.
